CSE Reader is a wide software program related to the steel connections (the “nodes” of steel structures). It is a special and limited version of the program C.S.E. (Connection Study Environment) that is enabled to execute only some commands and not others.
In short, CSE Reader does allow:
- on one side, to describe a problem of steel-connection design.
- on the other side to receive and manage its solution, viewing the results.
CSE Reader allows:
- To import FEM models already solved with all the geometry defined and the member forces computed. The possible formats are: Sargon®, Sap2000®, Staad Pro®, MIDAS®, and programs compatible to SR3 or SR4 file formats (Pro Sap®, CMP®, Enexsys®). These last two are open formats.
- If you do not have a FEM model, to describe inside the program the geometry of the elements (members) and their member forces with great freedom (axial force, two shears, torque, two bending moments). If the nodes are typical there are easy input forms (beam-beam, beam-column, bracings, etc.)
- To detect equal nodes in the whole structure.
- To have general reports on the node analysis (not yet solved and then solved).
- To send to the Service with just a click, some nodes chosen freely, to be designed. This can ideally also be all nodes.
- To receive from the Service automatically the nodes designed and solved.
- To see results by using the graphic interface.
- To examine and use the ASCII listing and the pdf report.
- To create file DXF, AVI, STL and others, referring to the node or to the nodes.
- To examine the results of the FEM analysis is this has been requested as an additional service.
- ….
CSE Reader does NOT allow:
- to modify the geometry of the joints once they have been desiigned by the Service.
- to locally (without the Service) solve the analysis or check of any node.
