The bracing can be:

  • A rolled I or H cross-section (Hsm)
  • An angle (Lsm)
  • A channel (Usm)

Depending on the size of the receiving beam, the connecting-gusset may extend to all the depth of the receving beam or only to part of it.

Beam to beam + horizontal bracing + vertical bracing
Beam to beam + horizontal bracing + vertical bracing

If the bracing connects to a column, it is moved or on the beam connecting to the column-flange, or, if this is missing, on the beam connecting to the column-web.

Usually when importing the FEM model it is required that the bracing TOS is lower than the receiving beam TOS. This is optional, and the amount can be freely set.
